CROSS COUNTRY N.B. MEMBER CLUB APPLICATION PACKAGE

STEP #1 - The mission of CCNB is to promote cross country skiing to the general population of New Brunswick.

A. CCNB aims to help clubs by delivering the following services:
(a) Providing liability insurance coverage through Cross Country Canada for all cross country skiing related activities on club trails.
(b) Training instructors and coaches to teach cross country skiing from recreational through to high performance, to a broad cross section of the community.
(c) Training officials for organizing and hosting recreational and competitive events open to skiers
(d) With the help of member clubs, organizing the NB Loppet series for recreational skiers
(e) With the help of member clubs, organizing a provincial championship for cross country skiers of all ages.
(f) Promote cross country skiing as an ideal lifestyle endeavor for people of all ages and backgrounds; and
(g) Encourage self development, leadership and sportsmanship in cross country skiing through the provision of multiple Cross Country NB recognized programs.
B. Will your club be a non-for-profit amateur sport organization?
C. Does your club intend to offer a minimum of one skier development program next season (ie. School Ski, Ski League, Junior Development, Junior Racing Team)?

STEP #2 - Prepare a brief letter explaining the purposes & objectives of your new club and the types of programs you intend to offer? An example letter is attached.

STEP #3 - Send your letter by mail, fax or email to the Cross Country NB Chairperson, c/o the Cross Country NB Office at 90 Ellesmere Drive, Moncton, N.B. E1C 9L6

Your application will then be reviewed by the Cross Country NB Board of Directors. You will be notified in writing of the outcome of this review.

The Tobique Valley Cross Country Ski Club wishes to apply for membership in Cross Country NB.
We are a newly formed group of cross country skiers and at present, in order to ski, we are setting tracks 4 km from the community of (name of community).
We would like to develop a suitable cross country ski trail system for the skiers in our region, and are currently working towards that objective. We have established a small Executive Committee for this purpose, and it is our intention to incorporate as a non-for-profit society with the Registrar of Societies within the next year.
We plan to start up cross country ski programs for all age of skiers, and hope to begin with an introductory program for children this coming winter. Eventually we would like to host activities and events that encourage new skiers to become involved in the sport.

The Tobique Valley Elementary School Rabbits wish to apply for membership in Cross Country NB.
We are a newly formed group that wishes to register in the CCNB Ski League Program for children. We have established a Committee to organize and deliver the program and we hope to begin this December.
It is our intention to offer the program to children from grades 1 through 7.
