Programs


Youth Programs

Bunny rabbit Program: is offered to children of 5 years of age and younger. The objective is to introduce youth to cross-country skiing and the healthy lifestyle associated with it as well as to develop their skills while having fun.

Jackrabbit Program: is aimed at children six to nine years of age. The objective is to develop technique, fitness and speed. This program has an award system to help children keep track of their progress.

Track Attack Program: is directed at youth ten to thirteen years of age. The objective is to control and improve technique from the Jackrabbit program.

All of these programs are part of Cross-Country Canada's programs. Don't forget that Beckie Scott, Canada's first Olympic gold medallist in the sport of cross-country skiing at the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic winter games, is a graduate of the Vermilion, Alberta Jackrabbit program.   


Adult Programs

Masters Program: is a learning program for adults. The provincial masters camp is held each year by a certified coach.

Women's Program: is a learning program for women. The provincial women's camp is held each year by a certified women coach.   


Touring Award Program

This program is to recognize long distance skiers. Skiers need to accumulate their kilometres during the ski season and if they meet the touring award requirements, they are eligible for a bronze, silver or gold pin.

To receive your award pin, enclose 5.00$ and return your completed card to the Cross-Country New Brunswick office.

Touring award cards are available at your local club.      


Coaching Development 

To train and develop qualified coaches at the club and provincial level to promote the development of cross country skiing in the introductory (Jackrabbits) to the elite (Provincial Team) level skiers.


Technical Services

To provide support and training of club volunteers in running, organizing and officiating events such as Loppets, Club level and Provincial level events.  


High Performance Committee 

To support our developing competitive athletes to achieve their personal goals, CCNB strives to follow the recommended guidelines of Cross Country Canada. A program of coaching support, training camps and "out of province" competitions (to supplement those available in the Province) are available to our club's competitive oriented skier.
